What is Advent?

What is Advent? Simply translated, it means “arrival.” For Christians around the world, it’s a time to celebrate the coming of Jesus the Messiah. This year at The Avenue, we’ll spend each week learning about hope, joy, peace, and love from the characters who played important roles in the birth of our Savior.

We’re also ramping up for Christmas by creating an atmosphere of anticipation for all of the senses! Lights, decorations, music, food trucks! Join us as we celebrate Advent at The Avenue!

This Year's Schedule

December 5th - Hope

Hope is a vision for better days that transforms us right now. Who doesn’t need that? Join us as Pastor David shares how to find hope in situations that seem hopeless by walking us through the biblical story of Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist—the forerunner of Jesus

December 19th - Peace

True peace is not making our problems go away. It comes when we invite God into our chaos and accept his strength to face the challenges. Pastor David will walk through Mary’s story and share how true peace entered her life and how we can have the same.

December 23rd & 24th - Love

When royalty are born, the first to find out and visit are usually the rich and famous. When Jesus was born, lowly shepherds were the first to find out and visit. Why? What does this say about God’s love for us?

Join us for Christmas at The Avenue! We’ll celebrate the last week of Advent and take holiday cheer to the next level. You won’t want to miss it!
