The family ministry of The Avenue Church is designed to lead  families to KNOW God, to GROW together, and to SERVE the world while we help students and their families trust God, make wise choices, and build lasting friendships.

 

We Know that Kids and Families need:

1.   A really big God.

2.   Someone else who believes what they believe (friends).

3.   Another voice in their life saying the same things as their parent.

4.   Nosey parents (to know where their kids are spiritually).

5.   Uncommon Sense (wisdom to make wise choices).

 

To Help Connect with These Five Basic Needs, We Will:

1.  Create Environments to KNOW.

  • Church (backstreet children’s worship)
  • Home (take home tools)

2.  Create Environments to GROW.

  • Church (LIFE Groups) (every child, student and family involved in a LIFE Group)
  • Home (take home tools)
  • Parenting courses and events
  • Family events, student events, celebrating family milestones, celebrating children's milestones, etc.

3.  Create Environments and opportunities for Families and Students to SERVE.

  • Wednesday at church
  • Events for families and students to know what it means to serve together

 

Scripture is clear that parents have been given the joy and responsibility of raising their students in the ways  of Jesus.  Parents are the primary voice and point of influence in a child’s life.  As children experience both pain and joy of life, parents are to help their kids see those things in light of the Gospel.
